THE PARTNERSHIP
Boulder Bookworks immediately set to work: we developed an acquisition program, worked with authors, helped their distributor grow sales, edited, designed and composed new titles, and ensured that each title received a coordinated marketing and sales effort. We report on our activities twice yearly to the state board of The Colorado Mountain Club and monthly to the Colorado Mountain Club Press Advisory Board. The new Colorado Mountain Club Press publisher—Boulder Bookworks—reports directly to the Executive Director. By contracting with Boulder Bookworks as a Publishing Partner, The Colorado Mountain Club was able to reinvigorate their publishing program, strongly brand their list through uniform editions and new design, significantly increase their titles produced per year, and transform Colorado Mountain Club Press from an expense into a profitable outsourced operation. |
